Well, where do we start! A casual look in the local property press one day resulted in Mark suggesting to Barbara that she might like to view a large detached house nearby which might have some potential.

After a number of discussions with builders and banks and an immediate offer to buy 6 Crown Terrace we decided to go for it!! Seven months on and we have renovated everything in that house that was possible to do (barring the cellars, but we had to draw a line): a loft conversion, new bathrooms, new kitchens, new plumbing, new wiring, a huge amount of insulation, new windows with double glazing, new drive, remodelled garden. We’ve hit the usual snags, plus a few less usual, and our communications with the various utility companies have been the stuff of nightmares. But, we’re still married, and we’re both still on good terms with the builder!

It’s been tough at times, but we think, and hope you do too, that it has been worth it.
